Metalcraft were kindly invited to The Technology Teachers Association in Glasgow on the 12th on August.
Used to promote and encourage high standards of design with the objective to advance technology and engineering for all, this years TTA meeting was the buisiest yet with technology teachers from all over Scotland having the chance to meet other colleagues, pick up awards they may have won and also the chance to see various exhibitors and get involved in worshops, 3 of which the Metalcraft team did throughout the afternoon. It was the chance not just to see how the tools work but get hands on and have a go themselves.
With a few children coming in on a Saturday to help out we managed to find time to let them have a go with the tools. It was not long before there was a que, but all the students did managed to make something and the teachers could see not just how much the children enjoyed it but also how safe and easy to use they are and the potential benfits of Metalcraft with the students using practical and creative skills but also the chance to design, develop and make there very own ideas from start to finish.
